The Boatyard
The Process / Boatyard Services

The Carpe Diem shipyard is located in Ýçmeler, Bodrum - the yacht-building capital of southern Turkey.

The yard consists of 4,000 square metres under-cover dedicated to the construction of luxury wooden yachts. Three separate buildings enable the yard to simultaneously build a total of 4 yachts: one for yachts up to 50 metres in length, a second hangar for yachts up to 35 metres, and a workshop for fine carpentry, furniture making and varnishing.

An additional 1,000 square metres is given over to access roads, office space and personnel facilities.

All stages of fitting are carried out on-site, and both in-house craftsmen and subcontractors - such as carpenters and electrical systems suppliers - have their own working areas inside the facility to ensure continual on-site quality control.

The yard’s first two builds are of identical specifications, both 47 metres long, of mahogany/epoxy laminate construction, and RINA classed: Carpe Diem IV (launched June 2010) and Carpe Diem V, which is due for launch in Summer 2011.

Refits, Renovations and Maintenance
Carpe Diem is a modern thriving shipyard well placed to meet the challenges of the future and to offer clients exceptional service at any stage in boat ownership.

Carpe Diem's facilities are not intended exclusively for yachts which have been constructed in the yard: our team also offers technical and maintenance expertise to undertake modifications on any type of yacht of whatever dimensions, whether the work is carried out in-house or outside our facilities.

The range of services carried out is considerable: from painting and varnishing to total renovation programmes, extending surface area to deck repairs, refitting interiors to plumbing and electrical work. Such work is carried out by the yard's own specialist teams and a number of selected suppliers, many of whom have previously worked on the building of Carpe Diem yachts.

In addition, Carpe Diem's partner companies include Prima Sails/Kaya Yelken Sailmakers , which is also the Turkish supplier of Harken and Profurl sail equipment, and Contender Sailcloth.
